Where to Stay in Las Vegas?
Depending on the time of the year, there are many resorts with affordable prices. If you plan on going to a concert or some other event, it is best to book a few months ahead to avoid paying for overpriced rooms.
The location is important if you’re looking to get the most out of your Las Vegas trip. It is recommended to stay on The Strip, so you can walk to restaurants, shops, and the Bellagio fountains.
The most unique aspect of the resorts is that many of them represent places around the world. If you love Paris, why not stay at the Paris Las Vegas Hotel or even better, The Luxor Hotel mirroring the pyramids in Egypt?
I also recommend Planet Hollywood as it is right in the middle of everything. Book your Las Vegas hotel here!
The Best Time of Year to Visit Las Vegas
The best time to visit Las Vegas is in the springtime as the weather is not too hot. Summer might be doable if you decide to stay around The Strip but if you plan to venture out to ghost towns or the Valley of Fire, you will definitely want to go during the spring.
Other than the weather, Las Vegas can be super expensive during the summer as more people decide to visit. In the spring, crowds are usually down and hotel prices are as well.
Why Choose Las Vegas for Your Next Trip?
Las Vegas is not just about gambling and over-the-top entertainment; it offers an incredible array of experiences that cater to every interest. Whether you’re a food lover, a nature enthusiast, or a culture seeker, Las Vegas has something for everyone.
From luxury resorts to quirky-themed hotels, the city showcases unique architecture and designs that will leave you in awe.
Planning Your Trip to Las Vegas
1. Research and Book Accommodation
Before embarking on your Las Vegas adventure, it’s crucial to research and book your accommodation in advance. Las Vegas offers a wide range of hotels, resorts, and vacation rentals to suit all budgets and preferences.
Consider factors such as location, amenities, and prices when selecting your accommodation. Some other popular options on the iconic Las Vegas Strip include the Bellagio, Caesars Palace, and the Venetian.
2. Determine the Duration of Your Stay
When planning your trip to Las Vegas, it’s important to decide how many days you want to spend in the city. A three-day itinerary allows you to experience the essence of Las Vegas without feeling rushed.
However, if you have more time, you can extend your stay to explore the city and its surroundings further.
3. Set a Budget
Las Vegas offers a wide range of entertainment options, dining experiences, and activities that cater to various budgets. To make the most of your trip without breaking the bank, it’s essential to set a budget.
Prioritize your spending on activities and attractions that interest you the most, and allocate funds accordingly.
4. Plan for Transportation
Getting around Las Vegas is relatively easy thanks to the city’s efficient transportation system. If you’re flying in, McCarran International Airport is conveniently located near the Strip.
Consider whether you will need a rental car or if you prefer using public transportation, such as taxis or rideshare services.
Additionally, familiarize yourself with the free trams and shuttles that connect various major hotels and attractions along the Strip.
5. Make a List of Must-See Attractions
Las Vegas is known for its endless entertainment options and iconic attractions. As part of your trip planning, make a list of the must-see attractions that interest you.
Some popular choices include the famous Fountains of Bellagio, the MSG Sphere, the High Roller Observation Wheel, the Stratosphere Tower, and the Neon Museum. Research operating hours, admission fees, and any relevant restrictions or requirements for each attraction.
Day 1: Exploring the Strip
Let’s start off the 3 day Las Vegas itinerary with a taxi to your hotel. The best part about The Strip is there are a variety of hotels within walking distance of each other.
Tip: Refer to this post for the exact pricing of a taxi to your hotel from the airport.
Morning: Start with a Scenic Walk
Begin your day by soaking in the energy of the Strip with a refreshing morning walk. As the sun rises, take a stroll along Las Vegas Boulevard and marvel at the larger-than-life hotels and attractions.
Don’t forget to stop by the iconic “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas” sign for a perfect photo opportunity.
Brunch: Try World-Class Cuisine
Las Vegas is renowned for its exceptional dining options. Take a break from exploring and treat yourself to a delectable brunch at one of the many renowned restaurants on the Strip.
From celebrity chef eateries to extravagant buffet spreads, there’s something to satisfy every culinary desire.

Afternoon: Explore the Iconic Hotels
No visit to the Strip is complete without exploring its famous hotels. Each hotel offers a unique and captivating experience.
Wander through the Venetian and be transported to the canals of Venice or visit the replica Eiffel Tower at Paris Las Vegas for panoramic views of the city.
Marvel at the grandeur of the Bellagio’s fountains or stroll through the indoor gardens at the Wynn.
Casino Fun: Try Your Luck
Las Vegas is synonymous with casinos, and it’s time to test your luck on the Strip. Whether you’re an avid gambler or a casual player, the casinos offer a diverse range of games and experiences.
From high-stakes poker rooms to vibrant slot machines, there’s something for everyone. Remember to gamble responsibly and set a budget for your gaming activities.
Evening: Catch a Show or Experience Nightlife
As the sun sets, the Strip lights up with entertainment options. Catch a world-class performance from iconic artists and awe-inspiring theatrical productions.
From Cirque du Soleil to magicians and comedians, Las Vegas offers an array of shows to suit all tastes. If you’re in the mood for nightlife, explore the vibrant clubs and bars that come alive after dark.
There are also quite a few shopping malls if you want to find souvenirs or just regular clothes. The one that I found to be closest to our hotel was the Miracle Mile Shops.
Although the shopping mall has a great mix of stores, you can also find a few restaurants.
Tip: Keep in mind that if you decide to visit Miracle Mile Shops with a vehicle, you will have to pay at least $12 after the first hour.
Day 2: Sightseeing and Attractions in Las Vegas
Morning: The High Roller Observation Wheel
Start your day by visiting the iconic High Roller Observation Wheel, located at The LINQ Promenade. Standing at a staggering height of 550 feet, the High Roller offers breathtaking panoramic views of Las Vegas.
Take a 30-minute ride in one of the spacious observation cabins and witness the city from a whole new perspective. Don’t forget to bring your camera to capture stunning aerial shots of the famous Las Vegas Strip.
Afternoon: The Bellagio Fountains and Conservatory
Next on your itinerary, head to the Bellagio Hotel to witness the world-renowned Bellagio Fountains. Marvel at the choreographed water dance as hundreds of water jets shoot up to 460 feet in sync with music and lights.
The fountain shows happen every 30 minutes during the day and every 15 minutes in the evening, so make sure you time your visit accordingly. While at Bellagio, don’t miss the chance to explore the Bellagio Conservatory and Botanical Gardens.
Admire the stunning seasonal displays featuring thousands of flowers, plants, and trees carefully arranged to create a breathtaking visual experience.
Evening: Fremont Street Experience
As the sun sets, make your way to the vibrant Fremont Street in Downtown Las Vegas. Known for its dazzling light shows and vibrant entertainment, the Fremont Street Experience is a must-visit for any Las Vegas traveler.
Walk along the pedestrian-friendly Fremont Street and immerse yourself in the lively atmosphere. Catch the famous Viva Vision screen – the world’s largest LED screen that spans the length of five football fields.
Night: Cirque du Soleil Show or Concert
No visit to Las Vegas is complete without experiencing a world-class Cirque du Soleil show. With a variety of options available, such as “O” at the Bellagio, “KA” at the MGM Grand, and “Mystère” at Treasure Island, you’ll be mesmerized by the jaw-dropping acrobatics and stunning costumes.
You can also catch a concert from a famous artist inside the Allegiant Stadium or in one of the hotels.
Day 3: Nature and National Parks
On your third day, venture outside of Las Vegas to explore the stunning nature and national parks nearby. Here are some recommendations for an unforgettable day immersed in the beauty of nature:
Visit Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area
Start your day by heading towards the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, conveniently located just a short drive west of Las Vegas. This picturesque desert landscape is renowned for its towering red sandstone cliffs, scenic hiking trails, and abundant wildlife.
Spend the morning exploring the serene trails and enjoying panoramic views of the Mojave Desert. Don’t forget to snap some photos of the unique rock formations and vibrant desert vegetation along the way.
Explore the Hoover Dam
After your visit to Red Rock Canyon, make your way to the iconic Hoover Dam. This engineering marvel, located on the border between Nevada and Arizona, offers a breathtaking sight with its massive concrete arch-gravity dam.
Take a guided tour to learn about its fascinating history, construction, and the challenges faced during its development. Stand in awe as you gaze down at the mighty Colorado River, which the dam harnesses to generate hydroelectric power.
Explore Valley of Fire State Park
As the day progresses, make your way to Valley of Fire State Park, known for its stunning red sandstone formations and ancient petroglyphs. This park, Nevada’s oldest state park, is named after its fiery red sandstone cliffs that glow when illuminated by the sun, creating a captivating and otherworldly experience.
Embark on a hike amidst the unique rock formations, discover the petroglyphs left behind by early civilizations, and take in the vibrant colors of the park’s landscape. It’s a photographer’s paradise, offering endless opportunities to capture breathtaking shots.
Believe it or not, the Valley of Fire is still a hidden gem despite the park being fairly close to the lively city. There is a fee to enter the park, but it is so worth it as you come across red-colored rocks and a landscape that looks like you stepped foot on Mars.
You can also take a hike and see even more panoramic views of the red and pink formations.
Visit the Seven Magic Mountains
Another place to add to your 3 day Las Vegas itinerary is the Seven Magic Mountains. Even though it is just made up of colored rocks placed on top of one another from an artist, it is still a top destination worth seeing.
It is free to visit and is actually in the opposite direction of The Valley of Fire State Park.
Tip: Be aware of stand storms.
This trip to Las Vegas offers a perfect blend of entertainment, sightseeing, and natural beauty. By following this itinerary, you can make the most of your time in the city and experience its diverse offerings.
