A Guide to St. Pete Beach and Clearwater Beach
I can’t deny that St. Pete Beach Florida is the place that everyone would choose for their vacation spot over Clearwater Beach.
If you needed any further persuasion to visit this gorgeous beach, St. Pete Beach was voted number one in the United States and the top ten beaches in the world.
I can say that if you’re looking for a place to call paradise and with sand the color of white sugar, St. Pete Beach should be pretty high on your bucket list. Based on my experience and the experiences of others, it is safe to say that St. Pete Beach Florida is the sunset capital.
Clearwater Beach has a plethora of activities for vacationers as well but doesn’t expect the beaches to be less crowded than St. Pete Beach.
Here is a fun guide to St. Pete Beach and Clearwater Beach!
Where is St. Pete Beach?
St. Pete Beach is on the edge of the Gulf of Mexico and is located on Long Key. Due to its location, you are always in for a surprise with stunning sunsets.
When arriving in the beautiful Florida city, expect to see many resorts and white sandy beaches. This number one beach in Florida has a longer shoreline, which helps to spread out the crowds.
Booking.comWhere is Clearwater Beach?
Clearwater Beach is along the Tampa Bay beaches and is part of a developed barrier island in Florida. The turquoise water beach is close to the resorts, restaurants, and attractions making the beach an ideal tourist spot.
However, be prepared to face a crowded beach for its short shoreline. You can’t visit Clearwater without going to the famous Clearwater Aquarium!
Things to do in St. Pete Beach
There are other things to do besides sitting on the beach while watching a sunset. One of the things that I would highly recommend for art enthusiasts is the Salvador Dali Museum near Downtown St. Petersburg. But the other activities are just as interesting.
Salvador Dali Museum
This famous museum is quite astonishing when it comes to unique art pieces. The Salvador Dali Museum offers an audio tour with both indoor and outdoor exhibits.
St. Pete Pier District
This activity is best done during the afternoon. Stroll on the boardwalk and visit the shops and restaurants.
Historic Sunken Gardens
A tropical botanical garden in St. Pete Beach to get away from the crowds. Anyone can visit!
Saturday Morning Market
This Saturday event allows local vendors to sell a variety of goods. The best part about the market is that people from all over the country come to visit!
Gulf Beaches Historical Museum
An inside look into the past of those who settled into the area. If you’re looking for a deeper dive into the history of the area, consider visiting this stunning museum in the Pass-a-Grille District.
Florida Holocaust Museum
If art museums aren’t your thing, this historic museum is one of St. Pete’s top destinations with a collection of historical moments from the tragedy.
Great Explorations Children’s Museum
A perfect place for young children to interact and learn about important facts such as science, art, and nature. However, the admission cost is quite expensive, but people say that the cost is well worth the unlimited activities for your children.
Things to do in Clearwater Beach
One of the top destinations in Clearwater Beach is the aquarium which allows kids and adults to learn more about sea creatures. But here are some of the other key destinations in Clearwater:
Cruise
A vacation to Clearwater is not complete without a dolphin cruise. I have to admit that cruises are popular and can be super crowded if you don’t own a personal boat.
Busch Gardens Tampa Bay
It’s time to visit one of the most beautiful theme parks! Busch Gardens Tampa Bay is home to many species of animals alongside awesome rollercoasters. Don’t forget to ride the safari!
Pier 60
All fishing lovers have heard of this spot in Clearwater and is considered to be an activity that people take part in.
Helicopter Tour
Seeing almost any kind of Florida beach from above is bound to be magical. But make this a moment that you will often talk about with a beautiful view of the Clearwater Beaches and a cool pilot to guide you.
Westfield Countryside Mall
An ice skating rink and hundreds of shops definitely will become an all-day activity. After shopping all day, check out some of the nearby restaurants.
Moccasin Lake Nature Park
It’s time to get out in nature and learn about some awesome facts! The nature park offers a self-guided tour for in-depth information on animals and other parts of the world of nature.
Even though Clearwater is a tourist trap, it is worth visiting for a day to take in the ocean views and dive into some of the fun activities.
But I do think St. Pete Beach Florida is more for people looking to escape the crowds while indulging in unique activities. Which beach will you visit?
