How to Spend Two Days in Treasure Island Florida
Treasure Island is a bit more laid back compared to other getaway spots like Clearwater and Destin. But there is plenty to do on the stunning island with beach shops and restaurants on every corner.
Here is a short itinerary to help you get the most out of your two days in Treasure Island Florida!
When Should You Visit Treasure Island?
The best time to visit is in the spring but you can also visit between October and November. The fall season is usually a bit more crowded and expensive due to Thanksgiving.
If you can’t make it between those two months, be prepared to book way in advance as many people decide to head down during December to stay through March.
Do I Need a Car in Treasure Island?
Since the island is not very long, only around 3 miles, it is much easier to navigate around this area by walking or riding a bike. You can take the Suncoast Beach Trolley, which also goes to Clearwater and St. Pete Beach.
Things to do in Treasure Island
Since Treasure Island has Sunset Beach, Madeira Beach, and St. Pete Beach, there are many activities to choose from that are all within a short distance from your hotel.
Some islanders decide to take advantage of the sidewalk alongside the beach for bike rides, which I highly recommend for taking in the beautiful views.
While others choose to survey sand sculptures and play mini golf. I would recommend checking out John’s Pass if you make it to Madeira Beach for the awesome food and trendy shops.
Here are other things to do in Treasure Island:
- Florida Orange Groves Winery
- Upham Beach Park
- Pier 60 Park
- Helicopter Tour
- Eco-friendly Dolphin Cruise
- Paradise Spa
Where to Stay in Treasure Island
There are a few hotels that often stand out for tourists visiting the area including Thunderbird Beach Resort, Bilmar Beach Resort, and Page Terrace Beachfront Hotel.
Day 1: Check in at Resort, Enjoy the Sculptures, and Restaurants
We decided to stay in the Voyager Beach Club Resort, and we couldn’t be more excited to explore what the resort had to offer. Although, it is a timeshare resort, it is less crowded and has unique rooms that stick to a nautical and tropical theme.
We definitely felt like we were staying on a ship with the interior design choices. I recommend booking.com and hotels.com for the best deals.
We left our hotel room to walk along the beach to take in the awesome sand sculptures entered into the yearly contest (Sanding Ovations). Of course, we couldn’t pass by the surf shops lining the road.
To end the night, there are an assortment of restaurants with all kinds of cuisine. My favorite has to be Caddy’s for not only the food but the ambience.
However, you can check out some more restaurants in the top beach restaurants in Treasure Island here.
Day 2: Day on the Beach, John’s Pass for Shopping and Eating
In definite need of a day on the beach followed by shopping and eating at John’s Pass. Make the most of your trip to John’s Pass by going before nighttime to avoid the crowds. The shops that I recommend for people visiting for the first time is The Zone Mad Beach, Overhead Surf Shop, and Fantasia Boutique.
The restaurants are also worth the visit with many different options to choose from (Sculley’s Waterfront Restaurant, Bamboo Beach Bar and Grill, and the Boardwalk Grill.) You can even grab an ice cream for dessert at Sip and Scoop.
Even though Treasure Island has many beaches, each one of them carries it’s own and are worth checking out.
When booking your stay on Treasure Island, make sure to look into Madeira Beach, Sunset Beach, and St. Pete Beach for your perfect paradise. Hope you like this two days in Treasure Island itinerary.
