9 Most Instagrammable Places on Anna Maria Island
Anna Maria Island is a slower pace paradise that tourists and locals love to spend time on.
But with the most crowded beaches in Florida, more people are starting to discover the quaint island. Anna Maria Island is most famous for its gorgeous blue water and less crowded beaches.
For planning a trip, refer to this Anna Maria Island itinerary.
As I was exploring the island, I came across quite a few places perfect for photo opportunities. There might not be a lot of aesthetic cafes, but the island has a fair share of murals and shops that have made this list of the most Instagrammable places on Anna Maria Island.
Which parts of Anna Maria Island should you put on your bucket list?
For beaches that feel like a getaway, it is recommended to visit Bean Point and Anna Maria Beach.
Although, Bean Point is known for strong currents that keep people from swimming in the water. It is well worth the privacy.
Did you know that May and June are the best times to see the clearest water on the island?
Here are the best places to take beautiful photos on Anna Maria Island!
1. Anna Maria City Pier
If there’s one thing you must do when visiting Anna Maria Island it is to visit a pier. The best time to enjoy the three different piers is when the sun is about to set.
Even though the longest pier was damaged by Hurricane Irma in 2017, there is effort to rebuild the city pier for continuous gulf water views. It is expected to be crowded during the peak season so don’t wait too long for photos!
2. Anna Maria City Jail
A hidden gem like the Anna Maria City Jail is one of the island’s best attractions. Even though the Anna Maria Island Historical Society is fairly small, there are plenty of interesting buildings to take the best photos!
One of the most Instagrammable places in the historical society is the jail where it says, “no roof, no doors, no bars, and no windows.” Not the typical colorful pastel place but one that will capture many people’s attention.
3. Coquina Beach
Known as one of the best beaches on the island, Coquina is the picture-perfect getaway with famous turquoise water. If you’re looking for possible sightings of dolphins, Coquina Beach is one you should add to your list!
4. Green Turtle Shell and Gift Shop
When spending the day shopping on Anna Maria Island, it’s hard to miss this bright green and yellow shop. You can find some of the cutest souvenirs for kids and adults!
5. Rod and Reel Pier
Now it’s time to dive into the “Old Florida” as you experience what it’s like to live like a local in paradise. The Rod and Reel Pier restaurant is not a touristy place but is actually still hidden.
Located in the North of Anna Maria Island, the restaurant serves local food and famous fish specials.
The best part about this restaurant is the way it seemingly floats on the stunning water. Did I convince you to visit yet?
6. Bean Point
Bean Point Beach feels like a private escape but has recently become one of the top attractions to visit when on the island. Stay for a beautiful sunset while keeping an eye out for shark teeth.
More on the history of Bean Point here.
7. Sea Horse Beach House
The pink and blue house in the center of the island has to be every vacationer’s dream. Only a few minutes away from Historic Bridge Street, the Sea Horse Beach House meets all necessary amenities with space for up to 10 people.
You can’t beat the stunning beach views!
8. Bradenton Beach Police Department
In an effort to retain community on the island, there is a community painting project that happens on the police department building. So be sure to stop by and soak in the wonderful mural ‘See You When You Return!’
9. Pine Avenue
Most of the spots on this list of instagrammable places on Anna Maria Island are located on Pine Ave. Once you’ve made it here, you will have seen many of Anna Maria Island’s best attractions.
Besides the historical society, there are also a few dessert places and the historic Green Village for shops.
As I’m writing this post, I am already thinking about revisiting the beautiful places on Anna Maria Island.
Although this Florida island isn’t filled with the typical instagrammable places, there’s still a generous amount of places that will make you feel like you’re on a private island.
